Come Aboard →Who We Are
Ship Seagle is a Sea Scout ship affiliated with Scouting America, open to young people aged 14–20 who want to learn seamanship, navigation, and maritime leadership. We sail, row, paddle, and work together to earn the ranks of Apprentice, Ordinary, Able, and Quartermaster.
Whether you've never set foot on a boat or you grew up on the water, Seagle has a place for you in the crew.
What We Do
Learn to read wind and water, set sail, and crew a vessel from dock to open water and back again safely.
Small-boat seamanship under oar and paddle builds the fundamentals every mariner needs on the water.
Chart work, compass bearings, tides, and piloting — the practical skills to know exactly where you are.
Knots, lines, rigging, and boat maintenance. Caring for a vessel is part of respecting the sea.
CPR, first aid on the water, and rescue skills — every Scout on Seagle is prepared to respond.
Overnight cruises, canoe trips, and regattas put every skill to the test in the real world.
Schedule
Skills training, rank advancement, and planning sessions. All hands expected.
Practical time on the water — sailing, rowing, and seamanship drills at our home dock.
Multi-day cruises and canoe trips building leadership and endurance as a crew.
Our flagship event — a full week on the water with Scouts from ships across the region.
Ready to Sail?
Open to all young people 14–20 regardless of prior experience. Come to a meeting, meet the crew, and see if the sea is calling you.
